Performer (singer, actor, voice-over artist, bilingual MC), Advocate (High Court of Kenya), Founder & Principal Consultant of JGIP ConsultantsJune Gachui is one of Kenya’s most versatile and celebrated performers, with a career spanning nearly three decades across music, theatre, television, and live entertainment. Known for her soulful performances and authenticity on stage, she coined the term #NyummyMusic to describe her unique style — heartfelt, uplifting, and deeply resonant.
In addition to her work as a singer, actor, and voice-over artist, June is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and Founder of JGIP Consultants, an intellectual property (IP) firm that helps creatives protect and monetize their work. She holds an LL.B (Hons) from the London School of Economics, an LL.M in Intellectual Property Law from George Washington University (USA), and has trained with global institutions such as WIPO and ARIPO.
June has graced international stages in the US, UK, France, Australia, Uganda, and Kenya, performing at high-profile events alongside global acts like Joe Thomas, Hill Street Soul, Keri Hilson, and Anthony Hamilton. Her musical productions include the acclaimed “Motown in Nairobi”, “The Tribute Series,” and “Bare Sessions.”
As an actress, she has appeared in numerous stage and screen productions, including “My Brilliant Divorce,” “Shirley Valentine,” “Lwanda: Man of Stone,” and “Threefold Cord,” for which she won the Best Actress Award (Sanaa Theatre Awards, 2016).
June has also served as a judge on shows like Kwaya and Tusker Project Fame, a host on The Great Kenyan Bake Off, and a radio presenter on Capital FM’s The Jam. She continues to inspire through her keynote talks and creative advocacy, empowering artists to thrive both on stage and in business.
