She has contributed her voice to globally recognized projects including the Cannes award-winning Stain Not Shame campaign, collaborations with Deutsche Welle, Netflix Mobile Games, AMREF, and Discovery Learning.
Wakio is a respected thought leader in the audio and creative industries. She was recently appointed to the inaugural advisory board of the Africa Podcast and Voice Awards (APVA), serving as one of eight experts guiding the growth of the audio industry across Africa. She currently serves as Secretary of the Kenya Actors Guild and Organizing Secretary of Voice Actors League of Africa (VALA) – Capital.
In 2024, Wakio received the prestigious Mashujaa Award from President William Ruto in recognition of her significant contributions to the creative sector. She was also named the Face of African Podcast and Voice Artists (APVA) Awards and previously served as Ambassador for the Kenya International Theatre Festival (KITFEST 2023).
Her commitment to mentorship and talent development is evident through her work with BTM Storytellers’ Pokeza Skills Program, where she serves as Program Lead.
