Interdisciplinary Artist | Adjunct Professor | @Howard University | U.S. State Department Art in Embassies Artist

Charles Philippe Jean-Pierre is a Haitian American interdisciplinary artist whose work explores memory, spirituality, and socio-political systems through the lens of his Caribbean heritage, global travels, and research. Based in Washington, DC, he is an adjunct professor at Howard University and a U.S. State Department Art in Embassies artist with works in Benin, Malawi, and Niger.

Jean-Pierre has exhibited at the Smithsonian, curated for the Embassy of Haiti, and was invited by President Obama to the White House to speak on arts and youth justice. His collaborations span Alvin Ailey, IMF, and the DC Commission on the Arts, with features in The Atlantic, The New York Times, BET, and The Washington Post. His public art appears worldwide, from Cape Town to Paris.

Jean-Pierre’s practice, housed in his studio at STABLE Arts in Washington, DC, continually challenges the narrative of perpetual outsiders—creating cultural bridges that connect the Americas and the Caribbean through vibrant, introspective art that speaks to identity, history, and transformation.
