Angela Mwandanda
Actor | Singer | Freelance WriterAngela Mwandanda is a professional actor, singer, voice-over artist, and freelance writer. She has been a performer in the Kenyan entertainment industry for the past 20 years.
Her most recent TV role was in the political drama series County 49 (Showmax, 2022), where she portrayed Agnes Okusimba, the loyal wife of a corrupt former governor. On stage, she was last seen in the award-winning play They That Have Missing Marks Shall Not Graduate (2024). She also played Maria in The Sound of Music (2021) at the Kenya National Theatre and had a supporting role in the popular telenovela Selina (Maisha Magic East, 2020–2021) as Dr. Katie.
Angela’s film and television credits as an actor also include Inner Beauty (2015), Dear Mother (2015), and the local crime series Crime & Justice (Showmax, 2021).
As a voice-over artist, her work spans radio adverts for Radio Africa, voice acting for the animated series Tinga Tinga Tales, and narration for the theatrical production Winds of Change.
Her writing portfolio includes contributions to True Love magazine, Buzz (The Nation), and Sunday (The Standard Newspaper), as well as her own original short film, New Beginnings.
In the next five years, Angela will have established her own production company, OlivEvan Pictures, a creative home for women to tell heartfelt, authentic stories. From the good to the bad, the ugly to the beautiful, humorous and everything in between, she aims to spotlight the complex and mysterious tapestry of what it truly means to be an East African woman.
She is currently in the pre-development phase of her debut feature film and is actively seeking funding and partnerships to bring the project to life under the OlivEvan Pictures banner.
